We were looking for a pawsome outdoor walk that would also provide some time off leash and Mathias Track sure delivered. Mathias Track is an easy walk, with a gentle incline that borders the Dandenong Ranges National Park. This means that mum and dad don’t have to be die-hard bushwalkers to enjoy this walk. You can start the walk at either Silvan Road or the Falls Road carpark. the full loop is about 7km but you can shorten it. Part of the track borders national park which means that dogs must be on lead but once you hit the old Olinda Golf Course, there is an off-leash area where pups can bound freely and make friends with other fur babies. We chose to start our walk at the Falls Road carpark and walked 2km to the Olinda Golf Course, let the hounds run around and then doubled back. We chose a cool winters day to do the walk. It was a little muddy so we recommend rugging up and making sure you wear sturdy shoes.
