The quarry is a beautiful, lush, open space that opened in 2019. There is a paved path that winds down from the top of the hill to the man-made lake. There are also steps if you feel like taking a short-cut. Round trip, the walk would be a couple of kilometers. Doggos are required to be on leash. The day we visited, we found ourselves there on our own and decided to give the fur babies a quick run – they loved it. The lake is now home to ducks and fish and you will often find people hanging out on the jetty hoping to catch their dinner. What we especially loved was the solar powered water station – where both humans and their dogs could grab a drink. It’s not often that you find water fountains that cater well for both. There’s also a picnic area and playground for kids. When the sun is shining, you can really make a day of it.
