Situated in the stunning Bunker Bay and just ten minutes from Dunsborough, this pet-friendly restaurant does alfresco dining like no one else. Nestled in the sand dunes, this is the perfect vantage point to watch the waves. Sit on the large outdoor deck in summer, or cozy up in front of the open fire in winter.

The menu is creative and varied, with breakfasts like green apple bircher muesli, toasted oat granola with rhubarb and hazelnuts, house-baked muffins and vanilla waffle with honeycomb butter and caramelised banana. For lunch, you can sample the orecchiette pasta with Shark Bay crab, tomato, chilli and basil, the roasted free-range pork with miso and nori, or the roasted market fish with coconut salad and mango. Top it off with a fine local wine and you’ve got yourself a winner!

Best of all, four-legged patrons are welcome, provided you sit in the outdoor area. North of the cafe, there’s a dog-friendly beach where you can both work up an appetite! (just watch the national park signage nearby!) Bunkers Beach House is open 7 days a week, from 8.30am to 3pm.

Bunkers Bay Cafe is located near a gorgeous dog-friendly beach close to Cape Naturaliste. We always take time to visit this cafe and this beach when we visit the area. It’s not too far from Dunsborough and when the water is clear and not too windy, the bay is very beautiful with its pristine white sands and turquoise waters. The cafe has a large covered outdoor area that welcomes your furry friends. The breakfasts and coffees we have had here have always been very good.
