Rawnsley Park Station is a 12,404ha sheep station in the heart of the magnificent Flinders Ranges. The Station provides a great base for visitors to explore the bushwalking, cycling and 4WD touring opportunities in the Flinders Ranges.
Located overlooking the southern wall of Wilpena Pound, Rawnsley Park Station has a Caravan Park with 60 powered sites and 100ha of natural bushland with 60 bush camping sites. The caravan park has a licensed shop selling groceries, souvenirs, fuel, alcohol, an under-cover camp kitchen with wash-up and undercover eating facilities, modern amenities block and swimming pool. We also have modern accommodation from Shearers Quarters and self-contained Units to the luxury Ecovillas.
The Woolshed Restaurant is an essential part in the operation of the tourism facilities offering dinner 6.00-8.30pm as well as Takeaway Pizzas before 6.30pm. Visitors can choose from a table in the old Woolshed by the wood fire in winter, or out on the deck when the weather is fine. The menu makes the best of local produce, including Rawnsley’s own Merino/Dohne lamb.
The Station has seven marked walking trails, including a five hour return hike to Rawnsley Bluff that provides a great view into Ikara/Wilpena Pound.
Scenic Flights over Wilpena Pound are available by light aircraft and also by helicopter. Charter flights by light aircraft are also available to Arkaroola and Lake Eyre. The Helicopter flights (including overnight heli-swagging) operate March-November. We also offer 3-day and 5-day guided walking tours to some of the best attractions in the Flinders Ranges. The Walking Tours include one night heli-swagging at the top of Chace Range.
Day and half-day 4WD tours of Ikara/Flinders Ranges National Park and Rawnsley Park Station are provided in comfortable six-seat Toyota Troop Carriers fitted with forward facing seats. Discover the spectacular scenery of the Flinders Ranges, see wildlife in its natural environment and abundant native flora, learn about the region’s rich geological history, and experience the Aboriginal and European histories of the area.
