THE PROPERTY

Jinchilla Farm & Lodge is a unique Halls Gap property set on 17 acres of private land nestled within the stunning surrounds of the Grampians. Jinchilla comprises two houses situated 100m apart; the Lodge sleeps 7 & the Farmhouse sleeps 13.

We rent the entire property exclusively or you can rent out the Lodge (fenced for dogs) or Farmhouse separately. Both are dog friendly.

ACCOMMODATION

As outlined, there are two houses on the property situated 100m apart: the Farmhouse and the Lodge.

The Farmhouse is a 4 bedroom double storey home sleeping 13 (13 beds).

Upstairs is a parent’s retreat with 3 beds (queen + 2 singles) including five squares of living encompassing an ensuite with spa bath and toilet and an open lounge area. A perfect area to sit and admire the stunning views whilst spotting shooting stars through the telescope at night.

There are three more bedrooms downstairs; Bedroom 1 (queen bottom bunk and single top), Bedroom 2 (2 sets of bunks) and Bedroom 3 (queen room with walk in robe and bathroom). The bathroom is also accessible from the main hall and includes a shower and bath. The lounge room is spacious and cosy with a wood fire heater. We have a separate and fully equipped kitchen and dining area too with a new dishwasher. The Farmhouse has a large laundry with new washing machine and dryer, and a separate toilet downstairs. There are 3 toilets in the farmhouse.

Outside is an undercover outdoor area with BBQ facilities, outdoor furniture, a trampoline, dartboard and table tennis table. There is plenty of space for backyard cricket or footy.

Lodge: 2 bedroom cottage with a main double bedroom and a second bedroom sleeping 5. The lodge comprises a comfortable lounge area with a wood fire, kitchen and dining with all amenities, laundry, bathroom with bath & shower and separate toilet. The front porch is undercover with BBQ facilities and is a perfect spot to enjoy a wine whilst admiring the scenery. The lodge has a fully fenced outside area to contain both little people & pets.

Both have heating and cooling.

INCLUSIONS

There are two dams on the property – you may want to try your luck at fishing or yabbying and can use our canoes and spend the afternoon on the water. It goes without saying that all children (and pets) must be supervised by their parents when around the water. We also have 9 bikes for our guests to use so take them out and cycle around the property and local area if you feel energetic.

We border a tree farm and large rural properties so you will be guaranteed a peaceful and private stay.

OTHER INFORMATION

Jinchilla is a family friendly property too with portacots and high chairs available in each house along with DVDs, books, toys and games. Pets must be well behaved as Jinchilla is home to an abundance of wildlife (kangaroos, emus, rabbits, birdlife) and our neighbours keep cattle, sheep and horses.

We supply doonas & covers, pillows and extra blankets but request guests bring their own linen (sheets). Basic provisions such as coffee, tea, sugar, cleaning products and washing powder are provided and guests are welcome to use whatever is in the pantry at the time.

THE LOCATION:

Jinchilla Farm & Lodge is across the road from the Halls Gap Zoo and 900m to Halls Gap Estate – Fallen Giants Winery. Something for both parents and kids! We’re a very short drive into Halls Gap village (3 minutes) and Lake Fyans is also very closely located.

Jinchilla is the perfect place for small or large groups and a place where you can relax, enjoy the outdoors and be amongst nature – kids can be outside, spotting kangaroos and off gadgets. Whether it’s marshmallows by the fire in winter or enjoying watersports at Lake Fyans in the summer, Halls Gap is a great option all year round.
