Dogs NSW will be opening their gates to the general public on Saturday, June 15 between 9.00am and 5.00pm and inviting you to attend ‘Dogs on Show.’

This is not just a Championship Dog Show but a public open day, which features special events, activities and demonstrations suitable for people of all ages. These events highlight the many sports and the fun you can enjoy with your canine companion, the advantages of owning a purebred dog as well as the many responsibilities that comes with owning a dog.

Activities on the day include a Championship Dog Show, Dr Katrina Warren and ‘The Wonder Dogs’, Jack Russell Terrier racing, Obedience, Agility and Herding demonstrations, Dances with Dogs, Fun with Junior Handling, a colourful Pageant of Breeds plus much more.

There will be numerous breed clubs attending, setting up information marquees on the day, so should you be interested in speaking to someone about a particular breed of dog, there will be expert advice on hand. This is beneficial when deciding what breed of dog best suits your lifestyle and particularly relevant for young and growing families.

Our host for the day will be celebrity ‘Farmer Dave.’ David started life as a sheep and cattle grazier on 100,000 acres, training and breeding sheep herding dogs to be able to manage the vast out-back stations. David is passionate about providing urban dogs with an outlet for their natural instincts and is the principal and head trainer at Australian Canine Sports & Training Centre. Farmer Dave’s extensive background in training working dogs and his signature phrase of “Give your dog a job and he’ll love you for life” makes him stand out from all others.

Dogs NSW will also have an information stand on site with information sheets on all the Australian National Kennel Council’s recognised breeds of dog, as well as having Dogs NSW show bags and merchandise for sale.

To add to the festivities, we are also inviting dog related companies to attend, to promote their products and services, so there will be lots to see on the day.

‘DOGS ON SHOW’ is located at The Bill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs, 44 Luddenham Road, Erskine Park.

Take the Mamre Road turn off on the M4 and we are just a short drive away. There will be FREE Admission and parking on the grounds plus food and

refreshments available.

This will be a fabulous day out for the dog enthusiast, for someone unsure on what type of dog would best suit them, or simply a fun day out for the entire family. There is something for everyone so come along and join in the festivities, particularly as Dogs NSW is also celebrating our 20th year as being a Royal association, our official name being the Royal New South Wales Canine Council.
